Quello che non c’è
This workshop invites children to immerse themselves in a creative, collaborative experience where play, design and sustainability come together. Using a kit of pre-cut modular shapes made from recycled materials, participants are encouraged to build imaginative scenes that extend beyond the familiar city centre of Milan — from forests and beaches to mountains and other imagined landscapes. Through this hands-on process, the workshop nurtures creativity, storytelling, spatial awareness and environmental mindfulness, offering a playful way to develop problem-solving skills and teamwork.
The design of the workshop draws inspiration from circular, rounded and organic forms. Because the aim is to encourage children to imagine worlds beyond Milan’s industrial and angular aesthetic, the elements intentionally contrast with the city’s rigid architecture. By working with soft, fluid shapes, the workshop invites children to think beyond the boundaries of their everyday environment and envision new, more imaginative possibilities.
The workshop was delivered in two editions: one for children aged 8–10 at Spazio Munari, and another for children aged 3–5 at PIANO Bi, presented within Design Week at Milan Design Week 2025.
